Dr. Stephanie Munyon

DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Munyon grew up in northern Illinois with a lifelong passion for animals. As a child, she was captivated by ZooBooks, Ranger Rick, and Animal Planet, which sparked a deep fascination with the natural world and a desire to care for animals herself. This passion guided her academic journey—she earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University.

During her veterinary training, Dr. Munyon completed externships with VCA South Shore and Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, gaining valuable experience in diverse clinical settings. Her professional goal is to provide exceptional care to animals of all kinds, helping them live the longest, healthiest, and happiest lives possible.

At home, Dr. Munyon’s love for animals is reflected in her eclectic and beloved pet family:Petra, a retired racing greyhound from Florida, is a fan of baked goods, cozy sweaters, and spontaneous zoomies. Fae, a feisty domestic shorthair rescue known as the “dumpster kitten,” enjoys cuddles, kitten parkour, and keeping Petra on her toes. Pearl, a lionhead rabbit and proud alum of the Wisconsin House Rabbit Society, delights in flopping, dismantling cardboard, and demolishing leafy greens. Peridot, a ball python and pet store dropout, appreciates all things warm and takes pride in rearranging her enclosure. Samwise, a leopard gecko (who doesn’t know he was adopted), finds joy in his hobbit hole and a steady supply of mealworms. Ripley Vibranium Checkers, a bearded dragon with a bold personality, enjoys basking in the sun and snacking on dandelions.

Outside of work, Dr. Munyon enjoys expressing her creativity and geeky side. She spends her free time crocheting, drawing, playing board games, diving into Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, exploring video games, and experimenting with tea blends.
