CT Scan

Computed Tomography (CT)

Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital is pleased to bring the newest and best technology in advanced imaging with the New Epica Viamgo GT30 CT scanner. High-definition volumetric imaging (HDVI) technology produces equal or better image quality compared to traditional CT scans, while exposing patients to far less radiation and with faster results.

The images generated by High-definition volumetric imaging contain huge, helpful data sets that include both traditional and three-dimensional reconstructions. High-definition volumetric imaging CT can be used for the evaluation of the following:

  • Dental Disease
  • Cancer Screening (abdomen/thorax)
  • Inner/Middle Ear Disease
  • Disease of the Nasal Passages
  • Brain Imaging
  • Spinal Cord Disorders
  • Trauma to the chest/abdomen/limbs
  • Orthopedic Disease/Fractures
  • Musculoskeletal & Soft Tissue Tumors
  • Thoracic disease

What Is a CT Scan and When Should Your Pet Have One?

A computed tomography (CT) scan is similar to a traditional X-ray. The primary difference is that CT scans use advanced technology to capture three-dimensional images, as high as 0.09 mm (human hair thickness) which show more detail than two-dimensional X-ray pictures.

CT scans are ideal for examining internal abnormalities, such as in organs, muscles or bones. If a patient has a tumor, for example, the CT scan helps our vets see precisely where it is and what’s around it so they can plan for surgery.
