Pet owners can now participate in research about ticks and to help track tick encounters.

Because Lyme Disease is the most common vector-borne disease (infections transmitted by the bite of infected arthropod species, such as mosquitoes, ticks, sandflies, etc) in the United States, researches have come up with a study to help them design integrated control strategies to prevent diseases transmitted by ticks. ( The Researchers are from Columbia University and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, members of the CDC Regional Centers for Excellence in Vector-Borne diseases).

The Tick App was launched in 2018 and provides information about tick biology and a deer tick activity tracker.
