Dr. Bailey Bodeen

Dr. Bailey Bodeen’s passion for animals was shaped by a childhood spent moving between unique locales like West Africa and Midway Atoll as the child of a National Wildlife Refuge Manager. These early experiences with wildlife inspired a lifelong love for animals and conservation.

Dr. Bodeen’s academic path includes a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ripon College with a master’s degree in biology focused on vector-borne diseases from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
A pivotal moment came during graduate school when Dr. Bodeen worked as a zookeeper and helped rehabilitate Thunder, a wolf who lived well beyond his expected lifespan. This experience solidified Dr. Bodeen’s passion for zoo and exotic species, inspiring her to pursue veterinary school.
Motivated by role models like Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin, Bailey strives to be a voice for all animals—domestic and wild—ensuring they receive top-tier care. Her approach is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and a deep love for animals.

When not working with animals, Dr. Bodeen enjoys nature—hiking, exploring, or relaxing in a hammock with a book—as a way to recharge and stay grounded. Though she currently doesn’t have any pets, Dr. Bodeen’s love for animals is undeniable, and it’s only a matter of time before a new companion joins her journey.

Dr. Bodeen’s parents, Tim and Stephanie Bodeen, have been steadfast supporters, providing encouragement throughout her journey. Their guidance has been instrumental in helping her to pursue her dreams.

With compassion, experience, and determination, Dr. Bailey Bodeen is committed to making a lasting impact in animal care and conservation.
