Wellness

Our animal companions are only with us for a short period of time, so it’s important that we take every measure to extend that time and to make those years as happy and healthy as possible.  That’s why routine wellness care is so important. These regular visits, at least once or twice a year, allow us to gather a complete and accurate picture of your pet’s current health, and to monitor that health over time.  Through regular checkups, we are often able to identify potential medical concerns and address them immediately, before they have a chance to develop into a more serious and costly problem for you and your pet.  Early detection and disease prevention can add years to your animal family member’s life, and vastly improve the quality of those years.  We know you love your pet and you always want what’s best for them.  The greatest gift you can give to your companion is to invest in their ongoing wellness care.

Diagnostics

It’s not always easy to tell that our animal friends are sick or injured just by looking at them.  Since our pet’s cannot speak to tell us what’s wrong, show us where it hurts or explain their symptoms, identifying the signs of a problem can be a challenge.  That’s where veterinary diagnostics come into play.  These tools, such as laboratory testing and x-ray or ultrasound imaging, provide our veterinarians with the opportunity to look below the surface of the skin and learn what’s going on inside your pet’s body.  At Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital, we utilize a broad range of routine and advanced diagnostic tools to help us identify, diagnose and treat a wide variety of illnesses and injuries in a timely manner.  The sooner we are able to get to the bottom of what’s bothering your animal companion, the better the chances of a positive outcome.

Dentistry

You may have been told that bad breath is normal for pets and that it’s something that you must simply learn to live with if you are going to share your home with an animal.  To the contrary, bad breath can be a sign that your pet is suffering from some type of dental problem, from plaque and tartar to gingivitis to periodontal disease, a much more serious yet common medical condition that can affect your companion’s entire body.  You can help your companion beat the odds by making a commitment to ongoing dental care, both professionally and personally.  The team at Brook-Falls is well versed in all aspects of pet dentistry, from routine preventative care such as exams, cleanings and x-rays to advanced care and treatment of existing oral health problems.  We’ll even show you how you can help your pet maintain healthy teeth and gums at home, in between vet visits.  Together we’ll have your animal friend smiling pretty for life!

Exotics

At Brook-Falls we understand that pets come in many shapes, sizes, breeds and species.  For some people, owning a dog or cat isn’t their preference.  They’d much prefer sharing their lives with other types of pets, such as birds, pocket pets, reptiles and other exotic animals.  While these creatures make excellent companions, they also require their own special kind of veterinary care in order to remain happy and healthy.  Brook-Falls Veterinary Hospital is one of the only clinics in the area that offers this specialized care.  We offer avian, small mammal and reptile medicine and surgery, including avian microsurgery and endoscopy, heated incubators and a dedicated heated room for reptiles.  We also have the only board certified avian specialist in the state of WI.  If you prefer your pets to be on the more exotic side, we’ve got all of the care and services you need to help you both enjoy many years of companionship.
